NDA
As part of an R&D exercise for an undisclosed client, I created a mixed reality concept for a future headset. This virtual mix of a zen and fairy garden is meant to be a calm escape from the hustle and bustle.

My goal with this project was to create a persistent virtual object that lives in a users space, and allows for calm and passive interaction.

Often times digital experiences can be overwhelming and complex, so my goal was to induce calm while allowing for exploratory interaction.

I based this work off of the calm practice of zen gardening, and the whimsical curation of fairy gardens. This proof of concept is meant to work as a building block for more complex world creation.

The Elements

There are three main interaction points in this proof of concept - the lily pond where you can practice deep breathing exercises with the flower, the moveable elements that can be arranged in the garden, and the rake which draws temporary patterns in the sand.

Each mechanic establishes space for more complex interactions, new garden objects can be introduced, and other customizable elements. My intention was for this to work with hand tracking or controllers, depending on the users preference.
