Edible Cities Pop Up

During my time in Shanghai, I assisted DEDO Design and Edible Cities as a documentarian, and I was fortunate enough to be allowed to help with the planning and ideation process for this wonderful installation.

On November 9th, 2016 at Capsule Gallery in Shanghai hundreds of balloons filled with seeds were released into the sky spreading across Shanghai. Visitors received envelopes filled with seeds to start their own gardens and refreshments made with ingredients from hydroponic farms in Shanghai.

EDIBLE CITIES is a response to the food challenge due to the worlds rapid urbanization process and environmental issues. Nunzia Carbone and DEDODESIGN Architects aim to re-design the underused spaces of Shanghai and transform them into functional green spaces for urban farming where people can grow their own food and participate in the life of their community.

As mentioned, I helped plan the installation and created the documentation video which was shown at a European Research Institute Conference.
